I first met Cornish potter Julia Crimmen at a craft fair where I bought some of her gorgeous pots.
I loved Julia's beautiful ceramics, which seemed to have a synergy with my own designs, also inspired by her Cornish countryside surroundings.
We found the opportunity to collaborate and I’m happy to reveal Julia’s lovely Ceramic Pot designed exclusively for us, featuring our Honey Bee design.
We asked Julia to share further with us about her work:
“For Helen’s pots I have used a stoneware clay with a gorgeous fleck in, which gives a beautiful warmth to the clay. I’ve created a range featuring Helen’s honey bee design as well as my trademark gold spot and a textured stripe.
They fit Helen’s gorgeous eco face wipes perfectly! My daughter and I are big fans of these, and have been using them for some time. We tended to leave them on the side of the sink, and when Helen suggested a collaboration, the design for the little pots just popped into my mind! Something useful and pretty too."
"The pots are handmade in my garden studio, there I design and make wheel thrown porcelain and stoneware ceramics. I use simplified stencils and slip to build up pattern and texture, adding rich glossy glazes to enhance these details."
"The colours are drawn from my love of the Cornish Coast and the hedgerows I see around my home.
It’s great to work with Helen, another small Cornish business. We both hope you enjoy using the new pots!"
