Enjoy Natural Pain Relief With Our Lovely Linen Wheat Bags

I believe in making products that are useful and that I would be happy to have in my life!  Most of our products are created because of something that I really need or could imagine enjoying at home.

Last year, I suffered from an acute frozen shoulder, so I made myself a Wheat Bag to get relief from the constant pain.

The team and I tested out a few designs and were so happy with the final sample, we decided to add it to our collection.

We’ve tested our wheat bags rigorously for safety, comfort and effectiveness.  They're independently tested for safety and by me and the team for comfort and effectiveness. See the Safety Sheet here.

We've created wheat bags in four beautiful linen colours from our popular Garden and Hedgerow designs, duck egg blue, natural, mustard and sage green.

Our final design has incorporated all the learning from my original wheat bag.

We are so happy to have a product that can be a great help with all kinds of pain and inflammation, from soothing menstrual pains to giving relief to muscle strains and aching joints.

Let’s explore the benefits of a linen wheat bag and answer some commonly asked questions about how it works and why it’s a must-have for every household.

What is a Linen Wheat Bag?

Our linen wheat bag is a soft, linen pouch filled with organic wheat kernels that can be heated in the microwave or chilled in the freezer. The pouch is divided into four sections to allow for comfortable positioning.  Linen, as the outer material, is not only eco-friendly, durable and washable but also soft and comfortable against the skin, it a perfect addition to your self-care routine.

Benefits of Using a Linen Wheat Bag

1. Natural Pain Relief

One of the most popular uses of a linen wheat bag is for soothing aches and pains. Whether you’re dealing with back pain, neck stiffness, joint pain, or muscle cramps, a heated wheat bag can provide relief by relaxing tense muscles and improving blood circulation. Its ability to conform to the contours of your body and stay in place, makes it a highly effective solution for targeted pain relief.

  1. Eco-Friendly and Sustainable

Linen is a natural fibre derived from the flax plant, which is biodegradable and requires fewer resources to produce compared to synthetic materials. Additionally, wheat, as the filling, is a renewable resource, making this bag an environmentally friendly alternative to electric heating pads or disposable heat packs.

  1. Reusable and Long-Lasting

Unlike single-use heating packs or chemical heat wraps, each linen wheat bag can be used over and over again. With proper care, it can last for years, making it a cost-effective and sustainable option for your health and wellness needs.

  1. Dual Functionality: Heat or Cold Therapy

Our Linen Wheat Bags aren’t just for heat therapy. You can also use them as cold packs by storing them in the freezer. Cold therapy is particularly helpful for reducing swelling, soothing headaches, and treating sprains or minor injuries. This dual functionality makes it a versatile tool to have on hand for various types of relief.

  1. Stress and Anxiety Reduction

A warm wheat bag can be the perfect addition to your relaxation routine. The warmth helps to ease stress, anxiety, and even insomnia. Whether you place it on your shoulders, lap, or stomach, the comforting weight and warmth offer relaxation in an instant.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I heat a linen wheat bag?

A: Simply place the bag in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, depending on your microwave’s power. When heating the wheat bag in a microwave, place a cup or bowl of water next to the wheat bag to avoid the wheat from drying out.  Always check the temperature before applying it to your skin to avoid burns.  You can also heat it in an electric oven by placing in a clean oven proof container at 125°C for 10-15 mins (do not use a gas oven).

Q: Can I wash my linen wheat bag?

A: The linen cover can be washed at 30°C; the wheat and the calico inner should not washed.

Q: How long does the heat last?

A: On average, a heated wheat bag will retain warmth for 30-60 minutes, depending on the environment.

Q: How do I use it as a cold pack?

A: Place the bag in the freezer for at least 1-2 hours before use. It works well for soothing headaches, reducing inflammation, or cooling down on hot days.
