Lampshade Making Workshop

Join Helen in the studio for this fabulous Lampshade Making Workshop and learn how to make a 30cm drum lampshade suitable for either a lamp or ceiling fitting. Included in the price is everything you need, including Helen's beautiful hand printed linen.

Choose your dates and linen fabric choices from the drop down menu. The workshop runs for 2.5 hours - 10.30am til 1pm.

Suitable for all levels, Helen will demonstrate a step by step approach allowing you to work at your own speed. Plenty of time for questions and lots of top tips to get that professional finish.

If you would prefer to use plain, unprinted linen - just let us know.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided during the lampshade workshop.

"Learning how to make a lampshade is so satisfying", says Helen. "You start with a flat rectangular shaped piece of fabric and can't imagine quite how you are going to turn it into a beautiful shade with crisp tidy edges. After just a short time, you realise it's going to be one of those things that you just want to do again...that's why we make two lampshades during the workshop!"

Excellent workshop!

I attended a lampshade making workshop with Helen Round at Maker Heights last month and found it a fulfilling, interesting and totally enjoyable experience . There were 8 ladies on the course and 2 tutors in a spacious workshop. All materials had been laid out, refreshments were provided and we were gently guided through the making process. There was a very positive friendly atmosphere, no rush and we were all delighted with our creations- I would highly recommend this workshop- Helen is a kind and helpful tutor and. and I’d love to do another workshop one day.

Wonderful

Helen’s workshop is wonderful- She is a calm, positive and encouraging instructor. It is so satisfying to learn a new skill and I am extremely proud of my two very professional looking lampshades. I brought my own fabric to use but when I saw Helen’s exquisite hand printed linens I quickly changed my mind. The hardest part was choosing which colour and pattern to use. Thank you Helen for generously sharing your skill and expertise with me.

Thoroughly absorbed

I really enjoyed the half-day workshop, thoroughly absorbed in creating two beautiful lampshades that I have put to immediate use at home. Lovely fabrics to choose from and the shades look very professional so I was very pleased with them. Thanks Helen!
